Hydrotherapy was first developed in the 1940’s by the Jaccuzi family when a relative was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis. The treatments he received in the hospital inspired the family to create and patent a unit that could operate in home bathtubs. This is when the hydrotherapy
industry began.

Fun Fact: the name Jason® is a contraction of the words “Jacuzzi” and “son”. Jason® is not to be confused with the brand now known as
Jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi company and name were sold by the original Jacuzzi family in 1979.
